Pueblan Breeding Question

CudaMako Feb 07, 2003 04:47 PM

OK, they changed the forums and archived my question. So I'll try one more time.... Question: I have a female "normal" pueblan and a male "apricot" pueblan. What kind of resuslts should I expect to see in any offspring between this pairing? Thanks.

The "apricot" coloring in Pueblans is a recessive trait. So breeding an apricot with a normal colored pueblan will result in all normal colored offspring that will each carry the recessive gene for apricot coloration.

If the offspring are bred together 25% of their babies will be apricot coloers, and 75% will be normal colored (2/3 also carrying the recessive gene for apricot color)

Good luck with your breeding project.
Glen
