Legal issues... i need help?

ZFelicien Jun 12, 2005 07:17 PM

Hello fellow snake fanatics, I have a bit of a problem:

last august I agreed to trade three snakes ( adult 0.1 2x het snow Brooksi, juvenile 1.0 2x het lavender (ruby eyed) and albino (red eyed) speckled king, and 1.0 Louisiana milk) for a pair of tri-color albino Hondurans. I sent him my snakes on the 2nd of August 2004, but I never got the two Hondurans I was promised.

I'm trying to take this individual to small claims court but I have no clue how to go about doing so. the thing is he lives in Delaware and I'm in NYC... would I have to go to Delaware?

I have the emails we've sent to each other.

I have statements from others he's scammed.

I have his mother address an phone # where he stays.

I have an email from an ex-girl friend of his that explains he's done this in the past.

I have the UPS tracking info showing the package was delivered.

Any advice on how I can go about doing it?

Thanx in advance

~ZF

Hey,

I am sorry about this. I would chalk it up as a loss, forget about it, and move on.

Can you tell us what his name is so we do not get scammed by him as well?

Going to your local courthouse and see what parameters your situation belongs under (ie, small claims court, etc..) All the forms should be there in their Law Library. Filing fees should also be posted. Check with a paralegal instead of an attorney (if you want to save money) on your course of action and to see if the other party has to appear in your jurisdiction.

Good luck.

You could also try to contact the local police on his end. They may have something to offer...he is in possession of property he has stolen from you.

Glad to hear The jungle is doing well. My female got over her picky eater stage and they now eat like pigs. They are almost twice the size as some lav cal kings I have with hatch dates in the same month last year.
