Deadly small terrestrial snake : Micrurus diastema aglaeope

Oxyrhopus Jun 12, 2005 08:14 PM

I posted this pic on the elapid forum however some here may not see it there and wish to see a nice shot of a central american coral snake. This gal eats any other snake and is not particular in its eating habits like some US coral snakes. It kinda reminds me of a mountain kingsnake.

oh that is nice. All this time I thought red had to touch yellow for coral snakes.

It may just be me, but i see red touching yellow in that pic. No?

Lia,

Red touch yellow, kill a fellow
Red touch black, friend of Jack(or venom lack)

That is for Coral Snakes that are native to the U.S. I'm pretty sure Dan's is from South America?

I absolutely love all the American corals. But yet I confess I am one who seldom visits the Elapid forum. Thanks for posting it here!
