Our first clutch

leoGirl Jun 12, 2005 10:52 PM

I woke up this morning to 2 eggs from my girl Lea. I'm so happy. Just checking some info out. I got the incubator set at 85 degrees on a bed of moss. I marked the top before i moved them to the incubator. How do i know what humidity it is? how do i check? Lea is looking pretty wore out. I got her to eat a pinky today. is there anything esle i can do for her. She still thinks she is guarding eggs... o and roxy is not far behind. I'm guessing in the next couple of days she will lay hers. Any help or tips will be greatly apperciated.

I'm Leogirls husband and i was wondering How do we tell if the humidity is 90%? And the one egg has a very small dent in the side, is it still ok? And we got Lea to eat a pinky and she is out and about again doing alot better.

you can buy the gauge to check humidity from petsmart of petco. other pet stores may have it to. they are with the thermometers. i think what you need is called a hygromometer. but not real sure. about the dented egg it can still be good as long as it doesn't completely collapse.

Roxy laid 2 eggs for us 6/15 and they are now in the incubator and we did go out a buy a humity meter for the incubator. The first 2 eggs are really bad. the bottom has sunk in, so i think i'm going to take them out. but the other 2 are different they feel soft still and kinda watery. after we took the eggs out roxy filled her wet box completely with sand. i think she has laid b4 cause she is doing alot of different stuff then lea. so i hope these are good. 1 question we should expect another clutch from them a couple of weeks apart right?
