How much money would you guys pay for a gecko like this?

kungfu2811 Jun 12, 2005 11:38 PM

Now that its summer ive decided to expand my herp collection a bit, and I picked up this little girl at PetCo(of all places) today. It seemed like too good of a find to pass up. I payed $29.99 for her, how much money would a gecko like this normally go for? Not that I want to sell her, im just curious.

Thanks,
Andrew

Ah. I was just curious since it seems that leopard gecko prices have started to go through the roof. Considering how much they are selling for at other pet stores, and internet websites/breeders, it seemed like a pretty good deal to me. But then again, I havent purchased any leos in a long time...
Oh well. They certainly are cool little critters!

Thanks,
Andrew

Forget these two people.

You got a steal! That little leo could sell for $100 on a web site. Pet stores just don't know what they have sometimes.

I would pay over a $100 for that leo if that's what they were asking for. I love the little circle on its back! Orange colors seem to go at higher prices, then where you got it comes into play. I think when you buy from a reputable breeder, the prices are higher. Kinda like buying designer clothes. The way I am though, is if I see something that I really, really like, I will pay just about anything for it. But it has to be something really special. That little leo would probably fall into that category for me if I saw it up for sale.

Yeah, breeder prices are normally higher, but their animals are normally healthier too. This little one is very healthy though, very hyper too. The guy at the store had to chase it around the cage for a while before he was able to grab it. lol

Thanks,
Andrew
