Was actually hoping to see some Mojave Rattlers, no luck tonight. I saw 3 Gopher snakes (2 DOR) 2 Glossy's (1 DOR)
and a banded gecko. I love the variation in color the pits have in the high desert.
I used to see banded geckos a lot more often as a kid. Now only when I'm in the desert.
Weather is still a little on the cool side.
Here is a few pics of tonight.

Awesome gecko.

Sorry about the mojaves, where were you hunting? You should try Lancaster, we have tons of mojaves. I think our locality is better than any other, our mojaves look so much better than any I have seen in any photograph (except maybe the albino)

I will head up to Lancaster soon. I've been cruising Bear Valley through hwy 18 and 247. Took the same route last night and not much was moving. A couple DOR Gophers (the gopohers up there are some of the neatest I've seen) a DOR Cal King and a couple more Banded geckos. I was out from 8-10pm. Maybe still a bit too warm?!
Any subtle hints about some roads in and around Lancaster that produce Mojave's?? Maybe drop me an email.
Ryan
