as far as dry beans go... should i be crushing them up, or should i feed them to my uro whole? hes only a baby
(3" svl) and doesnt have a big mouth, so i am a little scared of impactation.thanks!

From what I've read about others and their bean usage, grind it up and dust your greens. That "15 bean" soup mix seems to be the beean mix of choice. Soup mix or not, remove all red kidney beans! these are a no-no for ingestion.

You definately want them to be ground up into very small pieces for young uros.

thanks! one more question though, sorry. what is the easiest way to crush them up? ive tried a hammer- which made a MESS, and I tried food processor- which worked pretty good but left half the beans unground. how do you guys go about doing this?

Maybe a blender?? I personally have not had to do this myself since all my uros were adults when I got them. But some blenders have many different settings that maybe would work.

You could watch for sales or even look around at yard sales etc to get a used one if you don't want to purchase a brand new one.

a coffee grinder works perfectly for grinding up beans.
