split the two babies up and a temp question

MatNGa Jul 13, 2003 09:26 PM

ater getting a unch of advice from people i decided to go ahead and split my hatchlings up into 10 gal tanks. thermo regulation is not a problem for me in the 10 gal tanks cause the cool sides are actuly over an vents. my temps are 95 warm side 80 cool side

now here is my temp question in the included photos you will see a basking tree with a spoon under neath it and zoo med thermometer stuck to it. the temp reads 95 about 8 inches from the light do you think the basking site is in a good temp. it is only a 30 watt bulb while the one next to him has a 50 watt over it's basking area ( ac vent is a little more exposed on that side) his basking temp on top of the rock is about 110 and is showing no sighns of over heating ect.

i wonder if i should put a 50 watt in the other side i don;t think it would raise the temp on the basiking log very much

what do you guys think

get another 50 watt bulb for your other tank. I noticed your dragon climbed up to get closer to the bulb and heat up better.

thanks i bought a 2 30 watts and 2 50 watts today at home depot. oh BTW the bulbs i bought are the EXACT same bulb it looks like as the zoo med bulbs. has the same reflector and all made by phillips. works real good. for half the money.
