Ive been thinking about white snakes recently, and something struck me as interesting, im sure many have had the same thought.
The white on a piebald... it always looks sooo clean and sooo pure white, how does this compare to other 'white' BPs? Photos arnt always a good demonstration for white animals,so im after some views from people who have worked with some of these morphs.. ive seen pieds in the flesh, but have yet to see some of the others in person!
Ive seen yellow on some of the blue eyed leucies, the black eyed leucy seems to be pretty pure white (any yellow patches?), most snows carry some yellow.. and the ivory seems to have all kinds of colours in with the white (although this is one of my fave snakes
) oh and am i right in thinking that a small number of the blue eyed leucys have absolutely zero yellow too?
So in order of "pure whiteness" can anyone rank these white snakes? be an interestint little list i think, im keen to see the different opinions here.
alternatively maybe someone has some quality close up (eg macro lens) pics of the scales / pattern on the various morphs- ideally taken in similar lighting conditions.
Now that we are seeing more and more amazing high white pieds, i think it would be very interesting to see a high white pied x leucistic.. the question is would you see a difference in the "pied white areas" and the normally patterened areas overwitten by the leucistic gene? or would the leucistic genes alter the "white" areas of a pied too?
should have called this post "the nature of white" lol.
Cheers for any thoughts....
