It's a Harvester Ant with it's favorite prey...a harney towd!
Those yellow rings are most impressive. The specimen I shot had them too but they don't show up with my silly camera.
BTW, what camera do you have again Jason? That macro is phat.
I'm still using an antique Sony Mavica from 1999! I was one of the first on the block with a dig-cam back then...lol
I guess that was kinda easy...oh well. The camera is a Canon 20D and the lens is a 70-200 F/4 L. I don't know if it's "phat" or not but it is kinda heavy
I came home from work today and found this little guy over at my nieghborhood ant nest having breakfast. As much as the ants tried, they couldn't phase him. When they'd get close to his face, he'd merely close his eyes or lap'em up with a quick flick of the tounge.
