Cool weekend!

Mike Stefani Jun 13, 2005 11:32 AM

Hello
This weekend my Family and I all 10 of us went to a friends place here in IL.
Rob Carmichael curator of The Wildlife Discovery center at the Historic Elawa Farm in Lake county invited us to check the new place out.
Rob runs a tight ship, emaculate, healthy and well displayed his conservation museum
is a 10+! From Tiger salamanders to one of the largest North American Rattle snake collections.
Anybody in the Chicago, Milwaukee area should check it out.
Back to the reason for my post.
Rob has a HUGE Blackthroat who was better behaved than most of my children! LOL
I never gave much thought to these tanks, but after interacting with this beauty I am hooked! After a two year break in action Blackthroats sit high on my list of Monitors! What a great experience!
Thank you, Rob, Mike and Lindy!

Having a large family is great!!
I didn't know you had 7, thats great!
We had #8, Dominic is 9 months old.
He is gnawing on my big toe as we speak.

I know the winters in Maine are close to being the worst, of course Chi-town is the worst...only because I am here! LOL
I hope your missing Croc shows up and in good shape.

Your new facility sounds like a winner to me!
I was recently hurt on the job..pretty bad. We are going to relocate to FL. to get away from these winters.
I have some property in the panhandle and will be building a facility of my own as well.
I plan on the "indoor/outdoor" type setups.
Your always welcome!

eli...i'm up in the mountains...rangeley....i will say until i build my new buiding i really don't want anyone to visit..that should be in about 6 weeks....after the cages are done you can come up here to visit...and of course at no expense..my new cages are way behind schedule...and my old set up is just hanging in there...in fact it's amazing how tough monitors are...its hard to kill them...anyway if your up this way in august let me know...i'm 2.5 hours out of rockland..heres a tip for your croc...listen to Frank...good luck...billy
