help transporting a snake

bumble Jun 13, 2005 11:33 AM

I'm hopefully picking up my first snake tomorrow, a young oakatee corn snake. I have a journey of three hours long, and don't want to stress out the snake. How is the best way to transport a snake?

best thing is to keep it in a dark container or box and make sure it doesn't get too hot or too cold in the car. What I use is either a small solid rubbermade container with holes or screen for ventilation or a soft cooler.

I am converting a tupaware tub into a makeshift snake-travel-container. Thanks for the advice
