Sunglow Litter just born!!! LOTS OF PICS!!............

Amanda_Burke Jun 13, 2005 05:02 PM

My dad came home from work today just in time to find one of our girls giving birth to her litter. She must like to have someone there for moral support because last year my dad was able to witness the birth of her entire litter as well! lol
This female is the mother of our lipstick sunglows. None of the sunglows seem to glow quite as much as our 2 girls from last year, but there are some that already seem to have nice pink highlights on their heads and sides. We'll have to wait and see how they all look after a shed, but we're just happy to have a healthy litter! Still, I'm glad I didn't let my dad sell either of our lipsticks last year! lol

We didn't get a count on them, but it's a great sized litter of large perfect babies. Only one slug.

My absolute favorite kind of pictures, momma checking out her babies and helping them out of the sacs....

I love the picture below!

And this little one was trying to crawl out of the cage from practically the moment he/she was born!...

Thanks for looking,

wow, what an awesome bunch of beautiful lil babies!!!!
Congrats again! Sheesh, can I come stay at your place next
season? You've been having a terrific year! (and you're not
even there to see them in person yet right? oh I bet you can't wait!)

I love the pics of mom checking out the babies.
I wonder if that little albino that wants to explore in the last pic is a male? i bet it is!

Amanda_Burke Jun 13, 2005 10:02 PM

stay as long as you'd like! lol

You're right...I'm still not home to enjoy these litters in person. I'm going home in two weeks for my cousins wedding. I was only planning on staying for a night, but now, I'll have to stay an extra day so I can hang out with the new little ones!

Take care,

what a freegin litter...way to go guys!

Amanda_Burke Jun 13, 2005 10:06 PM

I don't think there are too many hypos het albino, so it seems like all the hypo genes went to make sunglows. You won't hear me complaining! lol
Thanks for the compliments,

And give us a count on this litter when you get a chance if you haven't all ready

Amanda_Burke Jun 13, 2005 10:13 PM

this year than usual, so most of our girls are due from late June/early July to the end of August.
We don't like to move the babies right after they are born, so we will probably get an accurate count in a day or two. A quick count looks like at least 35 though, with about half being either albinos or sunglows.
Thanks again,
