And again...

I found another nest this morning, and I'm pretty sure I know who the guilty party is: she was gravid a couple of days ago, and isn't now, & she typically starts digging later at night than the others. One thing that has me a bit puzzled is that, historically, she's only had small clutches (2 or 3 eggs at a time): this nest had 5 eggs in it. Hmm. I labeled those with a question mark next to mama's name.
And now tonight, one of the girls who layed (laid?) 4 eggs just 2 days ago, is digging again!!!
There are still 2 that are gravid, too.
Oh boy! My life will become very interesting in a couple of months, that's for sure!

You're doing great! I know someone who will be busy this winter. Great news & good luck!

Well, false alarm: the nest had no eggs, and was only partially re-covered. Nothing else had dug it up, so I guess it was a test hole (although I didn't realize that they would back-fill a test hole...have to research that some more).
My friend and neighbor has turtles, too, that came from the same place as ours (now a shopping center): her big girl laid eggs, so I've got those in the incubator now too.
Definitely a busy fall/winter in store for me...
