My gecko enclosure. Comment!

lillesspetz Jun 13, 2005 06:54 PM

Heh Ok it's nothing cool but it's something right? Gimme comments, advice what not!

Oh yeah I was planning to go out and by like slate tiles and use that as flooring, whatcha all think? I'm gonna go do that on Sunday next week. Kinda lazy this week lol.

Anyways............... Here's the 20L tank. There's three geckos in here. Two female and an unknown gender. I'm trying to figure that out. I can't hold it still to take a shot of it's privates. lol. Anyways. You can see one girl in the corner and part of another in the hide to the right. There's my custom made humid hide. I'm thinking of switching out the 'bed o beast' thing. Just dunno when. I think I'll do it Sunday. The container on the top of the tank is their worm bowl. I had to put in new ones and figure I take a picture before I put the worms in. There's a under the tank heater right under the humid hide. Also a red blub thing from exo terra that's like 75 watts I think. I only keep it on for 12 hours.

And this is a temporary home for my new gecko. As you can see humid hide, dry hide, water worms. I used a aquarium light but use two 25 watt night light thing from Exo Terra. I'm thinking I have to keep this one on for more then 16 hours. So the tank don't get so cold.

I am not a big fan of all glass aquariums (I dont think reptiles should be houses in something made for fish) but the set up looks good to me..... I am glad to NOT see sand for a change.... Good job on the set ups.....

I'm looking to get my first Leos in the near future, and I'm looking for ideas on housing.
Thanks,
Ken

Well I like rack systems but that will not be good for you if you are only going to have one or two leos.....

The reason I do not like all glass aquariums is because they are not good at holding heat unless you modify them a bit.....

Drop me an email and I can help you out better.....

Nice! Looks like you've put a lot of thought and research into your set-ups. I think going with tile would be an excellent idea.

If you want to take a picture of your leo's underside, just put him or her inside a clear plastic container, then take a photo by holding up the container.
