I have had a busy day

crotaphytusman Jun 13, 2005 10:37 PM

As I came home from work today I had a look inside my egg laying box for my female collard lizard and she had left six new eggs to add to my incubator. I am still waiting on the others to make their way out soon, I hope. As I was checking that I was also helping my brother with the new veiled cage we had planed. It's 6ft x 4.5ft tall and 3.5ft wide. It's split in two for the female and male. For those who don't remember I was the one who posted about the nine rescued Veiled's. Yes we now have just two and they are doing GREAT! I apologize again for any misunderstanding about that. The female we recieved from the guy is all ready gaining weight. We hope to finish tonight before it gets too dark. Here is the progress as of a few hours ago. My brother is thinking of using metal halide lights for them. Has anyone used them before? how do they last? Are they better than regular 10.0 or 7.0 tube UVB lights? I know they are suposed to last a lot longer as well as give off more of the spectrum but any advice would be great. Thanks again for any help. I will post some more pics as time goes on.

What kind of wood is that? I know its cheaper than oak, lol.

pine but the crown molding is going to be oak. These Veiled's are going to have a pimp pab when were done with em. Their is one cote primer two forest green so the wood won't rot. The front is going to be mostly glass (plexy glass) the rest screen. One Metal halide light and one 18" regular UVB. I am sure they will love their new home
