30 gal hex - how to recaulk

dcmander Jun 14, 2005 03:51 AM

I have a 30gal hex and the glue that holds the panels of glass together is very dirty. It would make the tank look a lot better if I peeled this out and reapplied...but how exactly should I go about doing this?

Should I just use a razor blade and remove as much as the old stuff as I can and then use aquarium silicon ?

Is it as simple as that or is there another process I shoudl use?

Thanks!

Never tried this before, but I heard vinegar will dissolve the silicon. Worth a try I guess.
