If this is a large burm (over 8'...not large by burm standards but will require two people), I would recommend flushing out the area with a slightly diluted betadine solution (should sort of look like tea when diluted). Give the entire area a good flush with a plastic syringe or something like that. In a pinch, you can even use listerine but some snakes don't like that stinging sensation. You want to stay on top of this as a full blown infection will require antibiotic shots which is no fun at all....but when in doubt, seek veterinary advice. I have to do this with a 6' gaboon viper that just came into our facility.

>>My burm has a what has to be a couple broken teeth..one is actually sticking through her upper lip...This must have happened when she struck at a rabbit and missed and hit the side of the cage.
>>I am gonna try and pull the tooth out later when i have help.
>>I was thinking of flushing it with some betadine daily to help prevent any infection.
>>got any suggestions??
