Crocodilian skeleton parts?

goini04 Jun 14, 2005 11:09 AM

HI everyone,

Just wondering if anyone in here knows where I can get ahold of some crocodilian skulls (preferably 1 medium alligator, 1 large caiman, and 1 medium croc skull). I would like to get these for my educational shows that I would like to get started some time VERY soon. Any ideas where I can get one and approximately how much it will run me? I would appreciate it if someone happens to know of a reliable source.

Thanks!!

Chris

Do they have to be real? Bone Clones has great skeletal replicas. I can attest to their accuracy on croc skulls because I have seen the original gavialsuchus specimen that they modeled their replica on. I know they have a couple sizes of gator skulls, both Nile and Dwarf croc skulls, as well as gharials. Not sure about caiman though.

We use their hominid replicas all the time. They don't deteriorate and they stay good looking. Their reptile skulls are just as good. I would get these before I would get a real skull. They are sturdier. They might cost more than a real skull but they might save you money in the long run.

That's also a good point. I think I will take a look at that. I would like to keep things as cheap as possible, but there are some things that are worth spending a bit more on the first time around.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Chris
