i am verry interested in make the chalmette show better, not only for vendors but also for the people that come through the door. recently i have become verry active on the boards, i used to "lurk" on the boards for a whole year so i know ypu people are out there. i want your ideas for makeing the chalmette show better. here are some of my families ideas as well as mine:
I. Advertisements
a. Signs
i. Large signs at: strategic stoplights
ii. Smaller signs along Paris rd, judge Parez, and STBWHY.
b. Public service announcements, maybe local radio station can send a van.
c. Flyers at grocery stores, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, fast food and restaurants (Possibly schools)
d. kingsnake anouncement
II. Vendors
a. Out of state fee
b. Big business fee*
c. LGCHS Discount
(Fees used for advertisement budget, big business = 4 or more tables)
III. Food
a. Have SPCA run food booth
b. Vender voucher for food, passably fast food or outback
IV. Patrons
a. Admission = $4
b. ˝ price for people who buy any livestock
Make sure all signs (or most) state benefiting the SPCA – people like charities
Make sure signs are big enough to ready from the highway.
Put out signs early.
Have posters made to put in businesses on their windows.
Advertise on the St. Bernard Channel on TV or maybe on all chanels, see what cox can do.
St. Bernard is closest reptile show to Gretna, New Orleans and Metairie, put out signs there too.
Day of show put our balloons or something big to attract people to the auditorium.
Put BIG ad in the St. Bernard Newspapers (maybe one page).
Offer something free – even if just popcorn, balloons for kids or face painting.
Good place for flyers and signs – Vets. There are many in St. Bernard and since it benefits the SPCA, eventually the Vets will get business from the adoptions.
Have T-shirts made for the reptile show. Sell them for say - $8.00 – but if you buy a shirt you get free admission. Have sponsors pay to be on the back – say for $100 each. Sponsors could be Vets, pet stores, Wal-Mart, etc. Could sell middle of back for more if someone would be interested.
Have a parade of prizes with donation from area fast food, pet stores, restaurants, etc. All would be valued for at least $20.00 and donated. Have it in a "pick a stick" format. Each person would pay the $20.00 and then pick a stick to see what prize they could win.
Have a donation jar for the SPCA.
Everyone who buys something for a vendor for more than $20 has a chance for another prize at the end of the show. Say a DVD recorder or TV.
Have some small inexpensive things for sale. Maybe some little ceramic or rock turtles or snakes. Something for the kids to buy even if they don't buy anything else.
what are your ideas?
