Asian Vine Snake Questions

turtlequest Jun 14, 2005 08:24 PM

I know that Asian Vine snakes are rear-fanged with a slight venom.

How slight is the venom? Is it to be compared to a Western Hognose snake (nothing to really worry about)?

Are they even aggressive?

These snakes are absolutly beautiful, but would they be ok for a regular snake enthusiest, or are they considered "dangerous"? Basically, I do not want anything that is going to cause any unwanted hospital trips.

Thanks.

I would say wearing some gardening gloves and a longsleve shirt just in case would probably be a decent enough precaution. The hard part about keeping one would probably be getting it to eat. You'd most likely need a good supply of feeder lizards.
