Hey...
quick question...i'm building a cage for an aussie water dragon...and the ambient temps need to be no more than 90 Degrees. I was wondering if I could use a plexi glass front for the enclosure.

I really don't want to go with glass, but i know that it may be the best choice...but time and money really aren't on my side. But any help would...uh...help...

Thanks

Few things need to be looked at .

size of cage, ventin , placement of heatsource in regards to the acrylic doors. Long as there is some venting to create airfow and allow some heat to disperse you should be fine . Acrylic wars from high Heat & Humidity when tere is no where for the air to diserse to..

Acrylic would not be my first choice for a Water Dragon, especially the Australian types. They can really scratch the heck out of it.

Acrylic also can warp when exposed to heat differentials - often an issue in reptile cages.

You mention money, have you priced glass? I have not compared to the two in years but glass has always been cheaper in the areas I have lived. And given the species this is for I'm guessing you need a fairly large piece, meaning 1/4" thick. In that case glass should be cheaper.
