At what age can SALMON MALES breed?

biggworm Jun 15, 2005 02:48 AM

I just picked up a male salmon boa (Ihle line).I purchased him as a yearling. As a matter of fact he just made a year last month.I don't want to push or overfeed him.I just wanted to know at what age a male salmon was able to breed?I was thinking maybe 3 1/2 years old? Thank You.Your comments are appreciated. Ash Lopez

Salmons will breed much younger. People have bred males at 18 months and females at 2 1/2 years. My males are closing in 18 months now and are already interested in the ladies.

By the way, very nice salmon you got there. Is he a super?

Hey Ash! Beautiful boas you have there! Tat female is beautiful and the salmon is KILLER! The father of your het. albinos was barely 2 years old when he bred and my salmon female that gave birth to a litter of 19 babies was just under 5 feet long and 33-34 months old. Good luck with your boas! Take care.
