What type of lizard...

Mothi Jul 13, 2003 11:52 PM

Can be feed pinky to barely weaned rat pups when full grown or growing that is tame enough to handle? I am trying to breed certain type of rats and would like to cull/feedoff babies I don't want. I know snakes are probably a better choice, but just wondering if any lizards can eat pinky to barely weaned rats also.

Bearded Dragons can take a pinky when older, but only occasionally. Monitors will eat rats as they get bigger.....but I'm not sure about handling them.....

here are some of the monitors and tegus
If you want a tame animal get a argentine black and white tegu or a savanna monitor or a black throat monitor.

If you want a sort of tame animal get a red tegu,or blue tegu

For a animal you really have to work at to get it tame I would recomend a gold tegu.

this is just my opinion as Ive only kept 2 of these lizards the savanna and red
