bumps on snake

westtexas Jun 15, 2005 05:54 PM

i have a two year old male sinaloan milksnake that just finished breeding a week ago. he is now showing a series of bumps on each side of the latter 1/3 of his body which are each about 1 inch apart. they appear rather topical, or just right under the skin. i fed him alot for the breeding season. not sure if they are fat bumps, parasites, or a skin problem. any thoughts? sorry i dont have a pic at this time.

It is impossible to tell by your description what is going on with your snake. Pictures would help, but often with lumps of this nature an image doesn't say a whole lot. It sounds like this snake (and pending litter) means a lot to you, maybe a vet visit would be best to determine what the cause is.

He/she may use X-rays, ultrasound, and/or fine needle aspirate to see what is inside, underneath the skin.
