I am currently planning to get a pair of ackies and I will build the enclosure but I have never done this before and have a few questions.

What should I coat the wood with and does the type of wood I use matter?

What type of glass should I use for the viewing panal/door?

How do I attach the glass to the wood in order to create this door?

Any ideas on how I should do the lock?

I think I can build the cage pretty easily except for the glass panal part. I'm kinda stuck there.

If anyone could help me out that would be very helpful. Any comments or cage ideas/plans would really be appreatiated.

To build good doors. take a thick wood picture frame or picture frame stock, and cut to your specs. get your glass cut to the size you want. and the picture frame has a 1/2" lip on the inside to set it on. then just use some industrial strenghth glue. and glue it in place.

I use those slide locks like they have on public restrooms. if you know what i mean.they are cheap and any hardware store has them.
