To Swordfish

swordfish, when we say don't touch your corn for 2 days after feeding, we don't mean "if you come into physical contact your snake will die!" you CAN pick him up to put him back in his cage! We mean don't hold him to "play" with him. you have the rest of his life to play. right now you just need to take it slow for a few weeks. you can pick him up if you need to move him from one place to the other though. Oh, btw I use repti-bark for my substrate (aspen is hard to come by around here) I have no complaints with reptibark accept that it leaves a fine dust everywhere if you just dump it in the cage.... this hasn't caused hope any problems but I have heard that if your snake has an open wound it could make it worse..... good luck! step away from the snake

Eco earth is similar I think, it's made of co[bleep] fiber though so it is much smaller. Apparently it's also safely ingested.

Thanks for the tips, I guess I'm just overly cautious! I want him to like me.

Cool pic too, hope looks EXACTLY like "Patches" does, except patches has red instead of the fleshy color. I think its what you would call an amel red? I have no idea.

About playing with him eventually, when do you suggest I start? And how do you suggest I go about it? Right now if i even make loud noises he shoots back in to hiding. I want to pick him up to put him in a separate feed box, but he runs away from me and I think if i chase him it could hurt the taming process?

Thanks
