Nice snake...you must trust it alot

I don't think I would ever trust a snake, even a trustworthy burm, that much with a young child (even with a parent/adult nearby). I am always sensitive in trying to project the right image when it comes to responsible ownership of large constrictors. Having a very young child with a large burm just doesn't sit well with me. I know this is very innocent and the person posting was just sharing a nice pic of his kid and the snake, but it does add one more bullet for anti-snake people and lawmakers to use against us (and they do). Whenever I show pics of kids holding a large snake (which happens frequently at my wildlife center) it is always with an adult near the head area of the snake. This shows that an adult is in charge and is showing proper handling procedures. Not trying to make too much of this but something that needs to be discussed in this day and age when our rights as private herp hobbyists continue to be taken away. And its too bad that we even have to criticize pictures like this as I know the person posting it had good intentions.

hey he has lots of large snakes that he lets his kid hold including anaconda burm reticulated pythons im pretty sure that they are probably harmless and held a lot or he would be a fool to let a kid hold a huge snake

Large snakes are far from harmless.
