Kingsnake (banana king) feeding

mlacombe Jun 15, 2005 10:25 PM

I have a banana king that is about 22 inches long and about 1 year old. The problem I have is that after I feed him he is very aggressive and tries to bite me by striking at me when I try to pick him up to put him in his aquarium. I feed him in a seperate smaller aquarium. I usually wait about 15 minutes after he ate his last meal before I attempt to pick him up. Sometimes that works sometimes it doesn't. If he keeps striking I put on a glove and pick him up then he is fine. My question, is this normal behavior? Should I feed him more? Right now I feed him three 3gram pinkies every four days. Also I have 2 corn snakes that I can pick up right after they eat. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks
Matt

Make sure you wash your hands after feeding, especially if you touch the mice. If you forget, your fingers are just more mice.
