Egg laying signs?

sandolar7 Jun 15, 2005 11:33 PM

I have a breeding pair of flavirufus's. The female has been eating 3-4 times the mice she normally does, recently. This strange behavior has me thinking she might be ready to lay eggs soon. If this is the case, can anyone tell me what to look for if she is in fact ready to lay. Does she need wet sand, etc.
Thanks..
John

Well closer to her period of egg laying her appitite will actually decrease because of the large room that that the eggs take up inside her body. She might be in her very beginning stages of egg developement. Just give her time and set up a nice nesting box for her.
