Inbreeding?

sergiotami Jun 16, 2005 08:09 AM

Just wanted some feed back.... In the past few months I've bought a couple of really colorful females for future breeding, the question is, they're both runts, very small and its not the first time I've seen this, is this from breeders taking their most colorful offspring and inbreeding?

Its possible. Sometimes there are runts in the clutch, just like with dogs. They could also have been inbred. If they are small, I wouldn't breed them, you may add to the bad genetics the U.s. already has (no offense).

What do you mean the bad genetics that the US has?! I'll have you know that we have some of the finest inbreeding going on in the world (except maybe for the Royals back there in the "Olde World"! Just take a look at West Virginia and Kentucky, those two states bring new meaning the the phrase "Everything (and One) is Relative"!
