repzoo44 Jun 16, 2005 12:41 PM

Have you guys recieved any phone calls from these whackos? They are opposed to gay and lesbian marriage and are putting together a petition to send to washington. To oppose gay marriage, press 1. A comedian has recorded a couple of these calls, its pretty ridiculous. http://www.eugenemirman.com/showandtell.html
I recieved a call last night and was eventually hung up on because I couldnt understand that God WANTS to spread hatred and oppression of other HUMAN BEINGS.
heres the number if you would like to call: 1-800-394-2611
The company is United America Technology (UAT)

Not so much wackos as desperate businessmen. They interviewed this guy on the news here and he sounds like he is looking for a lot of free publicity besides the suckers that buy into his garbage.

I am a christian but I don't believe in spreading hatred against gay/lesbian people. I don't believe they should follow that life-style but I don't think it is wrong to be friends with them anyway.

*Warning, long rant ahead. I feel strongly about this issue and feel that Christians are not clear enough on what they believe and what they should be doing.*

I agree with Kingsnake2. I'm also a Christian and don't approve of the lifestyle, but I have friends who are homosexual. Christians shouldn't alienate gays and lesbians like this. Certainly, the message of the Gospel is that Christ loved us and died for us while we were still sinners - likewise, we should be reaching out in love to others, even when they are living in sin. This doesn't mean we have to agree with their lifestyle, though. We can be clear and uncompromising in our position, while still reaching out in love.

Honestly, it's no different than saying I don't approve of alcoholism, don't approve of premarital sex, don't approve of dishonesty. Many Christians seem to be missing the point that America has other pressing issues besides homosexuality. Why some Christians elevate homosexuality to be a "worse sin" than any other issue in someone's life is completely beyond me.

My unforgiving nature, my lack of generosity, and my self-serving attitude are all sin - and no worse and no better in God's eyes than any other sin, INCLUDING homosexuality. According to the Bible, homosexuals don't end up in hell because they are homosexuals - all people have a sinful nature, and must be saved by Christ. Homosexuality, or any other sin issue, is a moot point until that person becomes a Christian. When they do come to Christ, God is faithful to work out any sin in that person's life, using whatever means necessary. Until then, homosexuality is only the evidence of the unsaved condition, and the condemning sin is not accepting God's gift of Christ. Not to say that Christians are perfect or beyond sin, either - just that Christians can't expect non-Christians to be held to the same standards until Christ's redeeming power is present.

Homosexuals hae to admit that what they are doing is a sin before they can be saved though.

I guess this reply is a little late...
Are you saying that if someone is converted to Christianity or ‘saved’ they will no longer be a sinner... such as a homosexual?

Once saved, conscious sin goes out the window. You "put on" Yah'Shuah (Jesus Christ). Faith without deeds is dead.

My .02 is that I agree with kingsnake & nekomi. I don't know about the phone co but like anything else in life, there are scams and liers and there are truthfull people.
I don't belive in unatural lifestyles but I do things in Gods eyes just as bad. Im no better.
The two things that tick me off are the ways that Christians as a whole are missrepresented at times as wackos..and the agenda of the gay rights movement to advance their belife and shove them down our throats no matter what including in the school systems.
