Sean Palmer "Lives"

SPZOOL Jun 16, 2005 02:38 PM

I've only recently had the opportunity to post and get on the computer. Very sincere apologies to all who have contacted me or attempted to with no luck. I cannot begin to elaborate what an incredibly difficult time I have endured. Nothing in my life has ever been so painful or long lasting.....and all because I keep HOTS.

I am unable to get into details right now and I hate vague loose ends, but I'm still pushing to deal with these "jerks" which so many of you already know about.

Sadly, there will BE NO KING COBRA EGGS available. I was forced to move the clutch and I lost 20-22 perfectly good eggs. This is going to turn into a deal which will consume my interests (at least partially) battling this matter out thru civil litigation. The Cobra Gardens is a love and a dream of mine, and I'm currently being treated unfairly and unjustly... there are alotta people involved too. Even a few herpers, but I won't and can't discuss this right now. It's going to all be in 1 of 2 books I'm working on.

It would be nice to see the "Hot" Communtiy win one for a change. I have other invested interests here too, but I never wanted to be known as "the guy" who got kicked out of an area because I keep venomous snakes.

When I get a chance to breathe, I will be soliciting efforts to enact a Federalized Permit System for venomous reptiles. We need it, and it should have happened a long time ago.

I haven't read all the threads but those of you who are pi$$ed at Jim H should really look at his stance from a "Macro-Herpetocultural" level.

Would Trey Small, Nic Stewart, Al Cortiz, Thomas E., Mardi Snipes, Tim Colston, Christopher Morales, Jason Mays, Chad Bachman, "Floyd" (sorry forgot last name), and anyone else whose been trying to get in touch with me please e-mail your phone numbers to seanpalmer78597@yahoo.com. I will contact you very soon. I don't have a phone and I just set this account up today.

Dusting myself off and trying to get back on my feet. God Bless!

Sean P.

Thanks for the warm wishes. I am still fighting my heart out on this. I have had my own mouth stuffed w/ hell graciously given to me by them. It's only right to give it to them in return. The things that they have done...we are talking about some serious crap. I've even filed complaints with the FBI who went and got up in their arses. I doubt I will have much of problems from them anymore; however, being ran through the ringer time and time again has certainly taken it's toll on me as well. There is a significant dollar amount in damages. The things we endure for our hobby.

The loss of the clutch has been one of many heartaches. I took the eggs to the local zoo and one of the "experts" verify that the eggs did in fact contain a polarized embryo. Determining the cause of egg death w/ 100% certainty is impossible. However, when you have a massive, simultaneous die off one tends to think that its something of an environmental condition....like moving them. It's very disappointing, but I will try again next year.

Before moving to SPI I researched the laws for restrictions 3 different times before spending $1000's and $1000's. I've always passionately loved the ocean (waves, wildlife, fishing, snorkeling, everything) and it's been a lifetime dream (since a boy) to live out here doing what I'm doing now. Visitors who view my display taking the tour leave having a good time and feeling enlightened. It's like a "Wildlife Church". I love it, its a good thing, and I will fight until I have exhausted all of my options. Honestly, I am proud of myself and have no regrets in any of my decisions made thus far. Not too shabby for a one man army. It would just be nice to see the HOT community win one for a change. The battle with these people has been underway since the beginning of construction of this exhibit. South Padre Island is ran more like a neighborhood association rather than a government. Real Estate is big business here. Our Mayor, and alderman are all volunteers. They do not get paid. They are also wealthy and involved in real estate. Those who own property here feel it necessary to run the island "in their own image". This image has never included having Sean Palmer or his beloved snakes here. They pretty much just do what they want. It's going to be a good book. I've suffered so much and sacrificed so much, and I tell ya, I've cried my eyes out over this issue time and time again.

Thanks for offering to help. Yes, you can. Would you please e-mail your # to seanpalmer78597@yahoo.com? I'll contact you as soon as I can.

Just out of curiosity, what is going on with that beaded's coloration? It's a very atypical specimen from what I'm used to seeing on the classifieds and such, and was curious if it was anything potentially special. It appears to be somewhat melanistic.
