My Snow Female Finally Gave Birth (D-up warning)

TonyB Jun 16, 2005 05:22 PM

After 135 days POS she finally gave birth to a beautiful litter. She was bred to a DH sunglow 50% poss het anery. I was hoping to pop out the first snowglows, but that will have to wait until next season. He did not prove out to be het anery, but he did produce some beautiful babies.

She delivered a total of 19 live, 1 stillborn and 4 slugs. The breakdown was 4 sunglows 100% het anery, 8 albinos 100% het anery, 4 hypos DH snow and 3 DH snows.
All of the babies and mom are doing great. I'm happy to say that this snow female turned out to be a great mother.

Special thanks to Frank Martin and Big Mike Weitzman for always taking the time to answer any of my questions.
Here are some pics. I'm just a point and shoot guy, so I apologize for the crappy pics.

How it all started. Bella is on top and Aurora (mom) on bottom

These were the first to shed, except for the hypo. I could not wait to take pics, so I will get more pics after they ALL shed.

A nice albino 100% het anery

My holdback male sunglow 100% het anery

This a better pic of the snows true colors in natural lighting.(Bella)

I messed up that! It was supposed to have my message in it but I messed up...

Anyways...I was just saying that it looks like you got some nice babies from that pair. Too bad the male didn't prove out for you but at least those albinos and sunglows look killer!

Congrats again!

Thanks,
Celia
