Hi there! I'm new here, but post regularly on a few other reptile forums under the same username, so some of you may recognize me.
Our iguana, Julius, is a rescue. As such, he came to us with precious little information on his history. We're not even entirely sure how old he is, guessing 3 or so, but that's total speculation. We do know that he's a male, neutered (we didn't do it, he was like that when we got him), and far healthier than he has any business being. We're still working on healing a tail loss (his second, at least, because the last 10" above the "new" break-off is regenerated), and he has two claws on his right food that were torn out, and two thermal burns on his face which have healed to pink scars. He is very sweet and good mannered (not big on being held, but loves to be petted, and generally "socialize". When we got him, he was very underweight. He is still on the "slim" side, but now that he's on a proper diet, he's come a long way. We don't know what his "birth family" fed him, but he didn't know what greens were when we got him, and we had a "fun" first week while we taught him to eat them.
As I said, when we got him, we discovered that he had been neutered, most likely at a young age. Anyone know offhand what, if any, effect this might have on him as he grows?
In any case, he's very sweet, and we just love him.
