Over-Aggressive Mating Behavior?

sprastr Jun 16, 2005 09:06 PM

Anyone ever had a female die on them? I put them together today and they did their thing and she seemed fine afterwards. A little stressed maybe but moving around. Checked on her tonight and she was gone. Was the stress just too much for her or was it something else? Thanks

When you say she is 'gone' I hoped you meant 'dead'. How old was the female? Mating and egg-laying can be fatal to any anole over the age of 5 years old. Captive bred anoles can possibly live longer and still breed but breeding is still not worth the stress.
