lawndawgz Jun 16, 2005 09:56 PM

Just wanted to hear from anyone that uses or has used any of the commercialy made rodent racks on the market?

Particularly interested in the Mouse Emporium and Kreature Keeper racks.

Not commercial, but EVEN BETTER in my opinion:

A friend of mine built these, and for $100 per 2 mortar tub level, it's the best deal out there. I run 1.8 in each bin with ZERO problems.
Hope this helps you a little.

I have a rack from The Mouse Emporium. Very solid compared to the Freedom breeder racks I have seen. If you get one though... I find that 1:3 in the breeder tubs leads to better production than 1:5. Also on the storage containers, I don't recommend 100 mice per container. I find that hoppers sometimes have trouble reaching the food also. It is by far the best commercial rack system I have seen.

Thanks for the input. That was the company I was leaning towards too.

These guys really put some effort into building the best racks, I have been to their facilities and seen it first hand. I cannot afford their racks, but did buy on of the prototypes they had and it is increadible!!! The addressed all the issued that the freedom breeder rack has.

You said....."They addressed all the issues that the freedom breeder rack has".

Which are???

The biggest issue is the freedom breeders have a ledge in the food tray that the food gets hung up on. They also own the mold (kreature keeper) to the trays which are thicker and stronger. Maybe Im just partial, but I think they are great!!
