What is a Mack Snow? Is it different from a regular snow and if so how is it different? I have also seen Mack Snows as being listed as Co-dom. I assume this means co-dominant, but what are they co-dominant for? Thanks for any help.

I'm no breeder so please correct anything I've misinterpreted...

From what I understand, other snows are line-bred, but the Mack Co-Dominant is really a codominant gene. When 2 Mack snows are bred together, approximately 25% of the offspring will be Super Snows. Super Snows have neat solid black eyes, tend to stay white (compared to yellowing in line-breds), and are usually striped. The Mack Snow itself is not as pure in color as the Super (but more consistent than line-bred) and from what I understand, does not have jet black eyes.

I know the Mack Snow was a first by Amy and John Mack, and I think they came out around the late 2002 breeding season. Now there's no need to line breed Snows -- we've got a true genetic line.

Genetics are so tricky. Im tring to get these Co-dom terms and stuff down, but so far all i feel real confidant with are Dominant and Recessive. Lol. Do you guys know of any books or websites or articles that do a good job defineing and explaining it all??
