Variation in bogeys.....a pictorial comparison

Did some hunting out in west Texas last weekend. We found 9 subocs (bogeys), 7 of which we found in one night on the river road -

The first three were found an almost exactly the same spot on the road.

Here is a sort of normal looking one for the area -

Here is a really pretty reddish striped one (kind of like many davis mts snakes) -

and this nice light grayish-green one (remniscent of southern NM snakes) -

These two were found on neighboring road cuts a few miles to the east -


Next time you think you can recognize bogeys to locality by their pattern, think again.

Snakes were photographed and released.

Cool bogeys Chrish. What is their record length and is it total or snout to vent? I got a ginormous one in Langtry Sunday night and I mean HUGE!
