I have a 14 year old or so female leopard gecko who recently got a cataract in her right eye. Has anyone seen this in leo's before? When I first got her she was 6 years old and extremely emaciated, you could see her spine through her belly, and she had incredibly bad eye infections in both eye. She is all healthy now, until the cataract. I noticed it on a saturday night, and took her to my reptile vet monday morning. She said she hasn't seen a leo with a cataract before, but she usually only sees very ill babies (guess most people don't take them to the vet), and my guys (all get yearly check up's and fecals). She said the cataract has not moved, but if it moves to the front of the eye it can cause the eye to pop from the pressure and that if it moves she may need her eye removed, but that she might not survive that surgery. She called cornell to see if they had any suggestions but they haven't called back.
I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before or knows of anything to do, like creams or drops to prevent glaucoma or something?
