Do I need to provide water to my adult Egyptian tortoise, it does not seem to drink any at all.
I've been using Fred Erwin's incredibly helpful website devoted to Egyptians for these type of questions:
http://home.earthlink.net/~fridjian/index
where he recommends an overall habitat humidity of 30% with a humid hide available of at least 60% humidity. (See: "captive needs" section)
The breeder I got my hatchling Egyptian from, Dan Wolfe, has this to say about the adults they keep:
"All water...comes from their food which is misted with water prior to feeding to boost it's moisture content."
They don't appear to keep water in the habitat at all for Egyptians.
That said, I would personally keep a humidity gauge in there to have an idea what's going on.

Oops, here's that Egyptian Tortoise link:

That's why I have my question. One provide water and the other don't. But mine is from Dan, so I think that's the reason why they don't drink.
Mine drink and also seem to enjoy a little soak. Ive also noticed when in their outdoor enclosure they have an affinity to sleep in damp areas, and even "dig in" to the damp substrate.
I've got a 3 year old male Egyptian who still drinks & seems to enjoy a soak from time to time. He lives outside in the summer in a pen with water available all the time.
