Tis the season to be jolly!......I think NOT!!

iggyann Jun 17, 2005 04:22 PM

Well, I do believe ig boy is going for another breeding season! I'm going to watch him to make sure that's what it is and not something underlying. He usually seems to start gradually around end of August or so and lasting for 4 to 6 months, but he started his stalking and "gotta be with her where ever she is" and "please just huuuuggggg me" routine about 3 weeks ago (much earlier than normal). Now he has graduated to the "don't you dare make me stay in that bedroom while your at work...just leave me on the couch." So now to pay me back, he has been busy poop painting the most beautiful art all over the bedroom floor and walls, that you could ever imagine. Talk about samonella....yuk! I'm keeping the clorox anti bacterial wipes in business!!! His eating is off too....I would worry, but it's only off to the healthy stuff....if I were to offer him all the special treat stuff like bread, pastas or bananas, he'd eat himself crazy. So I'm truly leaning towards him having an early breeding season.

Oh Ann, I remember you iggy's last season. He was a very naughty boy. Maybe he'll give you a break this time. Keep us posted.

Oh gosh i hope its not that time allready. LOL Last year was Ozzys first breeding season and he about drove me crazy. So not looking forward to that again. The poop painting, the constant escape attempts, the moodiness, the flashing of his privates at me lol oh the joys of having a male iggy. I dont think im ready for that again yet. LOL But at least we arent dealing with egg binding and huge vet bills, and the other problems the females have in breeding season. Not sure which is worse really. But good luck to you and your boy and best wishes for a easy season. Tami

Tami, this is so true. I think I would rather deal with the poop painting and him trying to latch on to my leg or neck to mate thing, than have the worry of egg binding, nesting, etc. For me anyways.

Thanks! I'll need it. LOL
