update on possible baby switch..

LauraV Jul 14, 2003 08:31 AM

I posted a pic a new dragon I received that I was wondering if it was the same as the one in the pic that was sent to me. Most of those that responded agreed that it did not look like the same dragon. Well, I did contact the breeder about the dragon first I was told that the breeder may have inadvertantly sent the wrong dragon due to her marks being shed off - she did try to match color and sex though. Sedond email a few minutes later said - they were indeed different dragons and that she would try to find the right one and swap them. Third email a few minutes later said if the pic I took was flipped it would show the correct pattern.
Please review pics again and let me know what you think. I do not know how to flip the pic - I can rotate but not flip. I don't understand this, as I made sure the baby was facing the same way as the baby in the pic I was sent (as best I could).
Let me get your second opion after flipping the pic in your mind.
Thanks for looking again.

If indeed the pic got flipped (had to have been her pic that was flipped - mine was just how I took it)and you look at the other side and pretend it was the left side, it does look more similar except for the second middle pattern down the middle back. If you look all down the back the middle pattern striping is about the same length, but the second one down is tiny - not even have the length. I do not see that on her dragon - they are all about the same length. Am I seeing wrong?

IMO they are not the same dragon definatly. You can tell this by the patterning no matter which way round you look at it.

Is yours the dragon on the right? If so then that looks like a better looking dragon anyway.

Yes I see what you mean by saying the dragon on the right is nicer...but the dragon on the left is in deep shed and dry, while the dragon on the right has shed out and is wet. I can see the potential in the dragon on the left, that is what made me decide to get her even though she is in deep shed and not very attractive in the pic.
I'm not unsatisfied with the girl I was sent - not by a long shot; I will be keeping her. I just had my heart set on the bold patterning of the other dragon and wish to get my hands on her.

Here is the newest pic I just took of the baby I received. Looks good for sure.

the one you picked out has a very distinct head pattern, its like a buttterly, the one you got has pinpoint patterns on the head. Even with shedding and bone growth changing, it would not change that much at this age.

Have you asked her what she might do on buying the one that you picked out first and explaining that you are attached to the other one and would not want to put it through the stress of shipping and changing enviroment again?

She just emailed me back saying she was kidding about the picture flip thing. She said she would look again after the babies have shed out.
I'm certainly not unsatisfied with this girl - I just wanted to be sure I wasn't losing my mind about the pics...because I have a tendency to lose things.

Lol me too. Seems like a differant dragon to me, but I can't be certain. Either way the one you got looks like it's on it's way to becoming a beautiful dragon. The picture they took is really not to clear, to many shadows on the dragon, and the colors look so differant. Either way it was good you pointed this out to the breeder. You might not have cared, but some people would have demanded money back or a switch.
