Hi everyone...About three weeks ago I bought a female adult crested gecko...SHe is a proven breeder...I asked the breeder if she had bred this season and he said no...A few days ago she laid two eggs..I incubated them but can anyone tell me how I can tell if they are fertile or just duds..Thanks in advance.

If you could show us some pics then we could help a little more.

Fertile eggs are white firm and usually 2-3 grams in weight.

Slugs- are yellowish and usually develop mold within a week or so of being laid.

I've had an infertile egg look fine and go full term (didn't have a flashlight at the time)

but if you have a flashlight, you can use it to candle them in the dark...if fertile, they have veining

but unless they mold or cave in, it's good just to incubate them if possible...females can retain sperm for a while so unless she was never with a male, they could be fertile
