Holy SMOKES!!

RHARMON Jun 18, 2005 06:35 PM

This is a strange one. This is the product of breeding a Mojave male to a 50% PH albino female. You can see a normal out of the egg, a Mojave coming out......and a wicked surprise. I don't even know what to call it, it's unbelievably bright, and certainly shouldn't be in this clutch. This one will be interesting to see how it looks after it sheds out!

RHARMON Jun 18, 2005 06:54 PM

I will get some more pics when it is out, put up and looking healthy. It looks smaller then it's siblings, have to wait and see.

That looks like a classic jungle. I hatched one out a few weeks ago. They're highly variable, but I can see yours has the light head spot, super bright yellow and dark black, and I'll bet it has a light eye (or half the eye), and a moustache. Very cool, but not inheritable (at least in any easy way). Seems to be some sort of random or polygenic trait. Here are a couple of hatchling pics of mine. I'll be posting post shed pics in a day or two...

RHARMON Jun 18, 2005 06:59 PM

That does look very similar, what were the parents? I love the head pattern mine has, and the color is unreal!

JP Jun 18, 2005 07:05 PM

normal female and a reduced pattern male...yes, yours does have an outstanding head...mine is more subtle...three symetric light spots...

coldthumb Jun 18, 2005 07:27 PM

Those are crazy!...i wonder if anyone will ever sort them out.(What actually occurs)

"yes, yours does have an outstanding head...mine is more subtle..."

Kinda makes you wonder if it isn't really a Mojave under there...

Nope, no pastel saw her. I did try a spider with her early, but he did not want any part of her, so I moved her to my Mojave who breeds everything.

Usually the runts are weird looking but rarely do they live. Hopefully yours lives. The neck looks "thick".

Corey

My classic jungle was a runt and also left his yolk behind. On top of that it took him quite a while to eat but he eventually did and has done fine since. I'm still thinking the classic jungle has something to do with egg stress. Maybe they are twisted up on their yolk or something.

..that must be the one you were going to send me

cheers, John

I hope it lives...it looks kinda jacked.
Neat color and looks like a classic jungle.

RHARMON Jun 19, 2005 11:29 AM

Here is the same animal out of the egg and next to a nice pastel baby for comparison. This one is outstanding, but noticeably smaller then it's siblings.

Murphinski Jun 19, 2005 11:54 AM

hopefully with some TLC..it will pull through for ya!

Best of Luck!

Misskiwi67 Jun 19, 2005 11:59 AM

Good luck with him!!!!

morphed Jun 19, 2005 06:27 PM

This is a weird question but does it have an odd shaped head. I have one that is a spitting image of that one that we hatched out last year.
