Thanks in advance.
I got some (years ago, so I don't recall the brand) at a large petstore. It was a small greenish package that had a number of capsules.. meant for aquarium fish, IIRC. I was told it was flagyl, yet was old under a different brand name. And, it cure two boas of meningitis, so I'd have to say it was flagyl alright!
I'm sure if you went to a GOOD pet shop/fish store, they'd know exactly what I am talking about. For some reason 'hex-a-mit' sticks out in my mind.
It is called metronidazole. It comes in either capsules or powder form. But I would recommend only people with experience to use it.
I think your best bet is to just see a vet, provided there is one in your area that does reptiles. better safe than sorry...
Use caution.
Actually you can get metronidazol powder in pretty much any pet store that carries medicines for tropical fish. Real Flagyl however is a brand name for a medicine which uses metronidazol as the active ingrediant in a liquid suspension. (incidently it gets it's name because of it's effectivness against flagellate protozoans) The only place that I know where you can get that is in Mexico.
