Blue Tongue Skink?

pdm Jun 20, 2005 04:39 AM

Hi,

I am looking into possibly getting a blue tongue skink.

I am looking for a type of lizard that is calm & doesnt run away when you go to pick it up & that does not tend to bite or be defensive when
handled.

Does the bts fit the above description? If so, would you say more so of eastern or western?

Thanks

With regular handling and depending on the individual personality, a bluey could likely fit that description. Northerns, Easterns and Irian Jayas are usually recommended as a good beginner bluey. Westerns are hard to come by (don't know of anyone breeding any) and expensive (in the thousands). You'll have more luck finding an Eastern between the 2 species you mentioned.
