Outgassing question...

Nicodemus Jun 20, 2005 09:52 AM

I've been sealing a new coffee table with Mixwax pulyurethane and I got to thinking...

Would the outgassing effect be a problem in my house? What I mean is this:

On one hand sealing a wooden enclosure and putting an animal in it where the gasses can concentrate can obviously cause problems.

But what about the effect of outgassing in a large room?

i.e. will my coffee table cause a problem when I put it in my living room where there currently resides 2 sun conures, a russian tortoise, a uromastyx, a great plains toad and a large millipede?

Or will I be forced to leave my coffee table out of the house for half a year?

You must be a very compassionate person that you would be more concerned about the air your pets will be breathing in your home than you are about the air you are also breathing in the same room.

Sometimes I think we look for too many things to worry about.
