QTGirl...IMPORTANT!

I posted this further down, but decided to re-post it toward the top to make sure you saw it; sorry for the duplication!

I had a baby last yr. that did just what you've described; it died because it was too hot! Please get a digital thermometer ASAP! Make sure it's for indoor & outdoor use. Set the switch to Outdoor. They have them for around $10 @ Walmart & Radio Shack. Please keep us updated!

Oh no! I don't know what to do now though, cause everyone is telling me different stuff I put a hotter bulb in because I was told that babies need 105-110 degress. Right now the tank is around 107. What should I do? It definitely is more lively when in the heat, but it also keeps opening it's mouth. And it gets all sluggish when it's away from the light. Please write back and tell me what I should do...what temp should it be at??

I think Tonia wanted to make sure you were using a digital thermometer, hers wasn't digital and wasn't giving the proper temp., therefore causing the temp to be much higher then what her stick on thermometer was showing.

...Christy knew exactly what I was getting at. Thnx, Christy, for answering QT's post; I was on a greens run! QT, my stick on AND analog thermometers were showing perfect temps, but it turned out they were really too high. That's why I asked what kind you were using.

Yes I beleive I told you what the safest thermometer was to use, but I'm far from perfect and might have missed that. Why is there a problem for you providing both a uvb strip light for the beneficial uvb and a regular houshould bulb for heat and UVA?

...post that digital thermometers were best to use. Because she never mentioned what kind of thermometer she used, I had a gut-feeling that I should ask her. I don't know what I'd do without my dig therm! I will say that I like my $10 RadioShack model ALOT better than the one I got combined with a hygrometer for $38, which always shows 2-3 degrees cooler!
