Freshly shed JCP....

Will Leary Jul 14, 2003 11:01 AM

Here's a fresh pic of Rebekah, one of our adult female breeder Jungle Carpet Pythons. She's just over 5yrs old and approx 7' long (I'll have to get a more accurate measurement soon). She just shed the other night so I thought it would be a great time to post a new pic. Hopefully she will give us a pile of eggs this coming season.

Hope you enjoy!

Hi Will.

Your pursuit of the best JCP breeding stock has really paid off. I haven't seeen too many mature adults that have not overly darkened or hazed over down the back. The ones that have pretty consistent color and brightness along the back as well as the sides are truly outstanding.

Is this the typical quality of the ones you produce?

Thanks! ...much appreciated. Since we have the majority of what we have produced, it's really difficult to answer your question with any certainty. However, from the feedback we have received and the holdbacks we have observed, I'd say that most of our hatchlings do indeed grow to develop nice color and contrast. It is our view that if both parents maintain great color at 5-8 yrs old, than more than likely the offspring will also gain and hold great color (with hopes that a certain percentage of them will turn out even better than the parents).

Thanks BH! We will probably pair her up with RR044-BOZM.
